Offerings for Presbytery: Throughout the year, Calvary takes up several special offerings to support the work of the Presbytery. These include the One Great Hour of Sharing offering, which supports the Presbyterian Disaster Assistance Program, the Presbyterian Hunger Program, and the Self-Development of People fund; the Pentecost offering to support Youth Ministries, Young Adult Volunteers, Child Advocacy, and local youth and child initiatives; the Peacemaking offering which supports the Presbyterian Peacemaking Program and local peacemaking programs, and the Christmas Joy offering which supports Racial-Ethnic Leadership Development and the Assistance Program of the Board of Pensions. Through these offerings for Presbytery, Calvary is able to make a global impact through its generosity all year long.

Feed My People: In addition to ongoing food collection, Calvary collects seed packets for Feed my People in the Spring, and created personal care baskets for clients of Feed my People this year. Calvary has also donated school supplies, Easter baskets, and had walkers and virtual walkers participate in the Manna March for Hunger benefitting Feed my People. At Christmas time, Calvary has supported the Giving tree program.

Isaiah 58: Calvary collects food donations for Isaiah 58 on an ongoing basis. In addition, Calvary has created and donated Easter Baskets for Isaiah 58 clients and contributed to its annual “Buy a Bird” program to provide Thanksgiving meals for those in need.

Room At The Inn: Each 5th Saturday, Calvary, together with Affton Presbyterian Church, hosts guests who would otherwise be without homes. Members and friends cook dinner, eat, have social/fun/game time with guests, and some members and friends stay overnight as well. In the morning Calvary and Affton serve breakfast and transports guests back to the Room at the Inn day site, where clients are given resources and training to help break the cycle of homelessness.
